The next International Conference on ‘Vatican 2+50: A Cardijn Perspective’ will be held in India in December 2015.
The 3 year project of CCI which was launched at the Manila International Conference in October 2012 will come to a close in December 2015.
CCI groups in different countries are engaged in gathering the perception of the lay people on how the spirit and decisions of Vatican II in the areas of social teachings and lay participation have been implemented.
The 2015 International Conference will be a forum for all Cardijn followers, lay organisations, communities and congregations to come together and search for effective ways to build a ‘sustainable and living Church of the poor’.
The Conference will also be an occasion to present the contribution of Cardijn at Vatican II and to reinforce his vision of a ‘new evangelization’.
Cardijn Community India is playing host to this mega event.
The inaugural session is planned for 5th December 2015 and the main conference will be from the 6th to 8th December 2015.
The host movement is also planning to hold a mass rally at the close of the Conference.
The Conference will take place at the Joe Beach Conference Centre, Mamallapuram, Kancheepuram district near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. www.joebeach.in
