A three day meet is being organised by the international team from 30th May to 1st June 2014 as part of the NEW PENTECOST 2014.
The theme for NEW PENTECOST 2014 is: WORKER
This event will bring together national groups of CCI to contextualise present day reality with the perspective of Cardijn and seriously study where we are going as a movement; they will also reflect deeply on Cardijn’s thoughts on worker reality in order to make CCI a relevant network.
The New Pentecost 2014 will also be an occasion to analyse the relevance of the spirit and decisions of Vatican II in the present day socio-economic development and reality and prepare effectively for the 2015 International Conference.
2014 also marks the 50th anniversary of the speech of Patrick Keegan, first IYCW International President in Vatican II.
Pat Keegan was the first lay person to address the Second Vatican Council. Indeed, he may have been the first lay person to address any ecumenical council in the history of the Church. He was one of the lay auditors.
Participation is only by invitation to the CCI country groups for the first 2 days.
A Forum to follow up the CCI campaign for Canonization of Cardijn and to share information on the launch of the Canonization Committee in Belgium is being planned as part of this event.
Father Felix Van Meerbergen, Secretary, CCI-Belgium who has initiated the Canonization Committee in Cardijn’s home diocese will be attending the event.
The 3 day event will be held at La Salle Hall, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
